Gwell na deng mil o angylion

1,2,(3);  1,3.
(Rhinweddau yr Iesu)
Gwell na deng mil o angylion,
  Gwell na holl d'wysogion byd,
Yw y Gwr fu ar Galfaria,
  Bywyd geir o'i angeu drud;
    Hwnw'n unig,
  Rydd i'm fuddugoliaeth lawn.

Mae'n rhoi bywyd ac ymgeledd
  I rai'n gorwedd yn eu gwaed;
Gwisga'r noeth a golcha'r aflan,
  Cwyd y truain ar eu traed;
    Teilwng ydyw,
  O'r gogoniant oll am hyn.

O! am fedru gwir ddyrchafu
  Enw Iesu yn y byd;
Ein calonau fo'n ei garu,
  Gan ei ogoneddu i gyd:
    Boed coronau,
  Fyrdd myrddiynau ar ei ben.

(The Merits of Jesus)
Better than ten thousand angels,
  Better than all the world's princes,
Is the Man who was on Calvary,
  Life is had from his costly death;
    He alone,
  Gives to me full victory.

He is giving life and succour
  To those lying in their blood;
He clothes the naked and washes the unclean,
  He raises the wretched on their feet;
    Worthy he is,
  Of all the glory for this.

O to be able truly to exalt
  The name of Jesus in the world!
May our hearts be loving him,
  While all glorifying him:
    Let there be crowns,
  A myriad myriads on his head!
